- And then… Happy new year! I wish you all the best! Let’s talk about resolutions, shall we? They come from excellent intentions but are often vague or overambitious without being measurable. Here are a few tips:
Instead of making resolutions, do a yearly review and planning. It will give you a background to think about and a clear plan for the year. Try one here!
When setting goals, you can use the famous «SMART» framework or, in other words, that might be more helpful, from Mark Manson: «make your goals Worthwhile, Approach-oriented, Challenging yet achievable, Concrete, Verifiable, and Rewarding.»
And as Antoine Martin says, commit to it.
Midjourney should add «use real words» as a new year’s goal. - I've recently become interested in Prediction Markets.
Prediction markets are platforms that let people buy and sell predictions on future events, with prices reflecting the collective wisdom of participants.
It's often amazingly accurate; see this article for more details.
For example, I created one for the price tag of the Apple MR Headset; and bet YES on «Will Apple show off its AR/VR headset before March 2023?». I found the variety of markets for XR topics to be relatively low, and I plan to add more, especially after the many announcements made at CES.
Oh, and check out this fun one. - There are countless applications of generative text using AI, one of the coolest I've seen this week is apps that lets you chat with famous people through history. (Historical Figures Chat or Hello History).
This is a fantastic opportunity for education. How cool is that? Instead of just ingesting history, students can interact, ask questions… With the teacher's assistance, of course, because AI models might get some things wrong.
