AccorHotels - Accor Virtual Hotels

AccorHotels wanted to publish 360-degree tours of its hotels and keep adding new properties without shipping a new build each time. Working through the Paris agency Ecocea, we rebuilt the group's app in Unity so that panoramas, hotel details and navigation points were fetched from a server at runtime rather than baked into the app. The first release covered eleven hotels across the Netherlands and Belgium, spanning the Sofitel, Pullman, MGallery, Novotel, Suite Novotel, Mercure, Ibis and Ibis Styles brands.

It worked with a Google Cardboard viewer, where selection used gaze dwell so a guest picked a hotel or moved between rooms by looking at a target rather than pressing anything, and it also ran without a headset inside Accor's own iOS apps. We built the web tool that sliced, compressed and packaged uploaded panoramas.

Accor then externalised its whole virtual-tour capability to us. We packaged the viewer as a licensed iOS and Android SDK so it could be embedded in Accor's own products, and added a hosted back office where their teams could create hotels, upload panoramas and place navigation points, then push the result to Accor's own servers.
