Gimbal Cube - Live Texturing and SLAM Demo

This was an internal research piece, built to test two things at once on a consumer phone: reading colour off a physical printed marker and applying it to a 3D model live, and then dropping the marker entirely.

A printed sheet is recognised as an image target and a fully rendered 3D model appears anchored to it. As the user draws on the sheet with a pen, the camera feed is sampled and the new colour appears on the model within the same frame. Once the model is placed, tracking hands over to markerless SLAM, so the model holds its position in the room and the user can walk around it with the printed sheet out of shot.
